Richard Chizmar is a recent graduate and has returned to his hometown armed with his curiosity, his journalist friend, Carly, and writing utensils. He is planning his wedding, but he is also planning on doing some detective work on his own. He feels as if he is being watched, strange calls are coming in, and well, he may have put himself in a little danger.
This reads as a true crime book with photos which make this book feel even more real. But it is a work of fiction. I had to remind myself of this several times while reading. Parts are taken from the Author’s real life which also give this book a very authentic feel. Don’t stop reading when you reach the end, the Author’s note is a must-read section of this book as well.
I saw the glowing reviews and had high hopes for this book, and it did not disappoint. I found myself to be fully invested in this book and didn’t want to put it down when real life called. It’s intriguing, so well thought out and executed.
Believe the hype and I’ll say it one last time – READ THIS BOOK!
