“We are all the same in different ways.”
Mary takes great pride in her work as a maid for the Regency Grand Hotel. Her Gran taught her from a young age how to clean and she is extremely diligent and good at what she does. She comes to work every day and works through her lunch as takes great pride in leaving rooms perfect for hotel guests. Even the death or her Gran months ago, does not prevent her from doing her job.
Some consider her odd; some call her names behind her back, some make assumptions before getting to know her. But there are some who like Molly and her unique and quirky outlook on life, speaking and her unique mannerisms.
“…chest hair isn’t the worst thing in the world.”
As a maid, you see many interesting things in guest’s room. You have to clean up their mess, their filth and on the rare occasion, you may find a dead body. This happened to Molly when she went to clean the suite of Mr. Charles Black. Not only does she find a messy suite, but she finds him dead and alone in his bed.
“You are never alone as long as you have a friend.”
Soon the police are investigating, and fingers are pointed, and Molly finds herself in a little hot water. Luckily, she had some friends who are willing to help her out.
This was such a wonderful and fun read. I enjoyed getting to know Molly and especially loved her fun thoughts and take on things. I enjoyed her friends and how this mystery unfolded. Just when you think you know it all, the author showed me that I did not. There was more! This was fun, quirky, heartwarming, and mysterious. I enjoyed this well thought mystery and how everything unfolded. Watching Molly was like watching a flower blossom. She really does evolve over the course of the book. Plus, the mystery was enticing as well. Whether you have solved the case or not, this book was a delight from beginning to end.
Believe the hype on this book! It is well deserved.
