“The best surfer out there is the one having the most fun.” – Phil Edwards

Kenna Ward lost her boyfriend to the ocean two years ago and gave up surfing. But when she believes her best friend, Mikki is being abused by her fiancé, she heads to Australia. She is invited to join them and their tight knit group of surfing friends on a remote hidden beach. Kenna knows that there is more to this group than meets the eye. They are skeptical of her and not too welcoming. This is their beach, and the waves and beach are all that matter to them. They will do whatever it takes to keep this beach, their very own hidden paradise.

But are they the happy cohesive group that they present to be? There are those who have gone missing….

This was such an enjoyable and gripping read. I love books where there seems to be no escape, no way out and you are left to face the elements and those you are with. The beach offered freedom, but it also offered danger. Everyone there had secrets, something they were hiding from, and their own reasons to be there. They did dangerous activities and faced their fears in very scary ways. When a storm hits, it means big waves, but it also means there are stuck and must face each other and the elements.

Captivating and riveting, I could not put this book down. I was glued to the pages, wandering who could be trusted and fearing that perhaps no one was entirely safe to be around there. Was I right? You will need to read to find out! I loved Shiver and was anxious to see what Reynolds came up with next! Another great engrossing read, and I can’t wait to read what she writes next.

Thank you to PENGUIN GROUP Putnam, G.P. Putnam’s Sons and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
