A reunion with university friends in Remote Scotland sounds wonderful, doesn’t it? A time to catch up, to celebrate a birthday, to reminisce about good times, and have some fun – what could go wrong???

Billy is on his way to the reunion, decides to start celebrating early. After stopping and enjoying a few drinks, he gets back in his car and hits a man. Billy puts the man in his car with plans of dropping him off outside of a hospital, but when the man dies, Billy freaks out. He’s now in a boatload of trouble, but instead of doing the right thing, he drives to the reunion and asks his friends for help.

That’s a BIG ask!

Then they find a mask, cash, and a knife. The man Billy hit is a criminal and if they had doubts before about helping Billy, they are now onboard. They will get rid of the body and keep the money.

They never thought about who would miss the dead man.

This was a fun one as they friends are quite the characters. They are an interesting lot, what you see may not always be what you get with this lot. The tension mounts, as the danger intensifies.

I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narrator. I thought he did a great job, but I also feel a female narrator would have been nice for the female characters in the book.

This one kept me on my toes. As I listened to the audiobook, things played out like a movie in my mind. I enjoyed learning more about the friends and their present and past histories together. The setting in this book was fantastic and added to the overall sense of unease in the book. A remote location, secrets and danger make for a riveting suspenseful read/listen.

This was my second book by Beevis and I can’t wait to read what she writes next.

Tense, suspenseful and dark.
