Allen Eskens always delivers a riveting, well thought out and engaging books! The Stolen Hours wowed me and kept me on my toes. Joe Talbert takes a backseat to Lila Nash and readers get to know more about her and her backstory. Lilia has overcome a lot yet her past still looms over her. As she takes a case, she is struggling with a horrible boss and is going head-to-head with a heinous criminal.
Lila is tasked with proving what she knows to be true. How do you catch a killer who is intelligent and has everything planned out?
This was a fantastic addition to the Joe Talbert series but works as a stand-alone. He has crafted likeable main characters with flaws, which make them more realistic and relatable. He has also given us a character to root for in Lila. Eskens is such a gift writer and storyteller. It is always so rewarding to read one of his books.
