I have been a HUGE fan of the Mike Bowditch series since I read Stay Hidden,the 9th book in the series. I have read all the books since that one and have been going back and reading the previous books. The Bone Orchard begins as Mike Bowditch is no longer a Maine game warden but a fishing guide in the North Woods. When Sgt. Kathy Frost, his mentor, is shot outside her home, Mike joins the hunt for the shooter.
Like the other books in this series, there is plenty of action, suspense, characters making good and bad decisions, Mike wrestling with his decisions about his job and love life, strong bonds, dangerous situations and beautiful descriptions of the landscape in Maine.
I have always enjoyed Mike Bowditch’s determined personality and non-stop search for the truth no matter the cost. He is brave, flawed, hardworking and intelligent.
This is such a wonderful series and I look forward to reading more of Paul Doiron’s books.
