Pure Magic! A one-night stand between a witch and a half demon, cast a spell on me. Book #2 in the Supernatural Singles was delightful, fun, and naturally full of magic!
Rose Maxwell, one of the Maxwell witches, trained her entire life to be the next Prima on the Supernatural Council. She stepped down and into some trouble by attempting to rescue a horse she thought was being abused. She was sentenced to do community service at an animal sanctuary run by Damian Adams, the half demon veterinarian that she had a one-night stand with! Their attraction is off the charts and when they find it hard to resist, they become friends-with-benefits. Both agree to the terms: no attraction, no feelings, just sex, sex, sex.
Enter angst, hexes, family, danger, lust, and a bunch of animals.
I read most of this with a giant smile on my face. This book had heart, endearing characters, lots of witty banter, danger and tension. Rose, her sisters, grandmother and grandmother are back, and it was nice to be in their orbit for a little while. While this is part of the Supernatural Series, this works very well as a stand-alone.
I enjoyed learning Damian’s back story which plays a major part in this book. What also worked in this book for me was how Rose and Damian both were animal lovers and worked together to make the animals lives better and to raise money for the animal sanctuary. Both are wonderfully drawn and likeable characters dealing with their own individual issues. This made for some interesting reading and interactions.
This was a gripping, captivating and magical paranormal romance with bite! April Asher has wowed me once again with her writing, characters and the journey’s she takes them all.
I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!!!!
