The future is not looking so bright.

Camp Zero, an American building project hiding many secrets, is in the far north in Canada. This is where the characters in this book will find their lives intertwined.

Rose agrees to travel to Camp Zero to spy on its architect in exchange for housing. Grant is a college professor trying to flee his wealthy family’s dark history. Both find that Camp Zero is not what they were expecting. Plus, there are the rumors of an elite group of female soldiers nearby. What are they doing? Who do they work for?

This is a debut book about climate change, power, and survival. How do you survive when the world becomes not very survivable? When you must migrate to live. When you are displaced by the climate. There is a lot to think about here. There is a part in the book where they discuss air and the benefits of air Canada vs. the air in New Zealand.

This was a solid 3 stars for me. Parts were slow but I am glad that I stuck with this. The author shows tremendous promise, and I would happily read more of her books in the future.

Thank you to Atria Books and Edelweiss who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
