A gripping cat-and-mouse where a notorious serial killer and a forensic pathologist circle each other in this debut novel.

Dr. Wren Muller has years of working in the Medical Examiner’s office. She has intensive knowledge in historical crimes and is adept at solving crimes. The Butcher is a serial killer taunting the authorities while conducting horrific crimes. He is clever, devious and deadly. Why is he now taunting the authorities? What is his end game? These were questions that I had while reading this captivating and dark book.

I enjoyed the POV of both Wren and the Butcher. We learn more about each as the book progressed. Both were nicely done and kept me on my toes.

I was fully invested and loved the narration of the audiobook. This was a fast listen and can easily be listened to in 1 to 2 days.

Gripping and dark, this was an enjoyable read/listen.
