I loved Mr. Wrong Number and was excited to see that Lynn Painter had another book in the series! This time featuring Jack who readers met in Mr. Wrong Number. I was happy to see that he was getting his own book. Just like Mr. Wrong Number, this book left me with a smile on my face, chuckling at the witty banter and looking forward to the next book in the series. Fingers crossed that Hallie’s roommate gets her own book!
In the beginning of this book, Jack is the best man as his sister marries his best friend. Hallie is working as a bartender at the wedding and gets wine thrown in her face by Jack’s jealous girlfriend. What follows is a one-night stand that morphs into friendship, a dating app, lots of witty banter, attraction, chemistry, tacos, and one heck of a journey!
This was a fun book. As I mentioned, I loved Jack and Hallie’s witty banter and the thoughts/observations running through their minds. Both are likeable characters, and both have interesting backstories.
It’s all about the journey and I loved reading about theirs! I can’t wait to read what Lynn Painter writes next!
I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrators did a fantastic job!
