Four university friends who were one close but have drifted apart. They chose the Scandinavian wilderness to hike in. This could have been a great trip to reconnect, find their way back to their old bonds, but this is not going to be that kind of trip. This is going to be a nightmare!
They get lost, they are hungry, and that is only the beginning as things go from bad to worse. A dead animal hanging from a tree to an old shack in the woods and the nightmares that followed. I just had to know what was going to happen next!
This book was creepy, dark, tense, and atmospheric. Just the way I like horror books. The book begins with the disconnect felt between the friends, their wanting to connect, their mounting tension, the fight, the night of nightmares to being hunted.
This was a creepy and atmospheric book that delivered. This was my first book by Adam Nevill. The movie version of this book kept showing up on streaming, so I decided to take the plunge and read the book. I enjoyed his writing and his vivid descriptions. I look forward to reading more of his books.
