The Defense

Eddie Flynn was a con artist turned lawyer who has his entire life turned upside down when Olek Volchek, the head of the Russian Mafia in New York kidnaps Eddie’s ten-year-old daughter and places a bomb on Eddie’s back. Eddie is in a race against time to save his daughter and win an impossible murder trial. Eddie will need to rely on all his skills in this gripping, and hard to put down book!

I listened to the audiobook and enjoyed the narrator. I enjoyed the twists and turns in fast paced cat-and-mouse book. I loved the tension, sense of danger and game of wits in this book. I rooted for Eddie the entire way. There are quite a few characters in this book, but I didn’t have a hard time keeping track of them as they are all fully fleshed out.

I enjoyed learning about Eddie’s past and how his history of cons and those he had relationships during that time helped him when he found himself in an impossible situation.
