Thought Provoking!

Sally Diamond had been taking care of her bedridden father who told her to throw him out with the trash when he dies. Seemed like a simple request to her and she followed his advice by putting him in the incinerator after he passed away! Thus begins the tale of Strange Sally Diamond!

Sally is an interesting character who will tell you that she is different. Those in her town know she is different. Through the course of this book, readers will learn more about Sally, her background, and those in her life.

Putting her father’s dead body in the incinerator is the catalyst for this book. The police and media become involved, people talk, and two women in Sally’s life will be there to support her through it all even when Sally is not at her best around them.

Soon, the past will come knocking when a package arrives and what is learned afterwards is beyond shocking!

Wowza! Strange Sally Diamond is a gripping, thought provoking, shocking, and emotion evoking book. I felt and thought many things while reading this book. I felt bad for several characters, anger at others, loathing at some and pity for others.

I thought the author did a terrific job showing the long-term effects of trauma, abuse, and depravity. There are some disturbing scenes and there are some scenes that had a little humor. I found this book to be very well thought out and executed. There were also some shocking twists and turns along the way which had me turning the pages.

Trigger Warnings – rape, kidnapping, sexual, emotional & physical abuse.
