***CRACK*** This is the sound of Lisa Regan hitting it out of the ballpark once again!

My Child is Missing is a gripping, well thought out page turner that I did not want to put down! As with the other books in the series, Lisa does such a fantastic job of providing enough back story that this can be read as a stand-alone. But it is such a riveting, shocking, gripping and well written series, that why not go back and read them all!

Sixteen-year-old Kayleigh and her little sister Savannah went for a walk in the woods behind their home. Kayleigh wanted to prove to Savannah that the legend of the Woodsman was not real. After a frantic phone call from their frightened mother, Josie Quinn shows up to begin the search. When Savannah is found alive, she tells Josie “The Woodsman has taken my sister”.

Wowza! Regan pulled no punches with this book. I was on the edge of my seat, turning the pages, doing my own super sleuthing along with the Denton PD trying to find Kayleigh. This book grabbed my attention from the very first page and did not let go. I enjoyed the nice balance of Josie investigating and getting glimpses into her personal life. I was also happy to see the rest of the team doing what they do best while still grappling with loss. This just adds to the realistic feel of the book.

I always enjoy tension and dread in mystery books and this one did not disappoint. This book kept me on my toes and turning the pages. There were a nice amount of twist and turns throughout the book. I had my theories as to whodunit and was right on my thing but was still shocked at another reveal.

I’m still loving this series after 18 books and have my fingers crossed that there will be many more in the future.

Well written, gripping, tense and shocking!

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
