After reading the first book in the series Dark Angel, I was an instant fan and kicking myself for having not read any previous books by D.K. Hood. I found Shadow Angel to be intriguing, shocking and hard to put down!
FBI agent Beth Katz and her partner Dax Styles are called in when Cassie Durham’s friend/co-worder reports her missing. Cassie was last seen leaving the bar where she strips. Soon after her body is found posed and wearing heavy makeup, another woman goes missing. Beth knows that there is a very sick and twisted killer out there. Beth is no strangers to killers; her father was a serial killer, and she is a vigilante who hunts down killers when not working as a tough as nails FBI agent.
I enjoyed the mystery and investigative work done by Beth and Dax in this book. I enjoy their working dynamic and banter. I also enjoyed the tension and mounting danger as Beth went undercover to solve the case. There were some pulse-pounding scenes which had me flipping the pages wanting to know what was going to happen next.
I found this book to be well written, well thought out, perfectly paced, suspenseful, and hard to put down. I was fully invested in the plot and look forward to reading more books in this addictive and thrilling new series! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series! I have a feeling it is going to be another riveting page turner!
