Faking it……
Nicola Marsh came on my radar with the last few years, and I have enjoyed all the books that I have read by her. I enjoy her writing, the characters she creates, and the way she tells her stories. Cupid Season was a delightful rom-com with a fake dating trope.
Cash is looking to save his reputation. His PR team wants him to enter a Valentine’s Day competition to raise money for charity. The catch – he needs a girlfriend, and he doesn’t have one!
Layla needs some extra money and decides to take Cash up on his offer to pretend to be his girlfriend. It will be a win-win for both!
Romance is all about the journey and this was a cute and fun journey. With romance, readers generally have an idea how things are going to end, and the fun is what happens along the way to get there. Cash and Layla are both likeable characters. We are given just enough backstory to understand their motivations and feelings.
This was an enjoyable read with some humor and steam. It’s a short captivating book and can easily be read in one sitting. If you have not read a book by Nicola Marsh before, what are you waiting for?
Well written, captivating and delightful
