The course of this book takes place over a 24-hour period. Four characters will see their lives change during that time. One Year After You is the gripping continuation of events that occurred in the unforgettable One Day With You book. Can this book be read as a standard-alone? It can be but you will be missing so much backstory that I highly recommend reading One Day With You first.

It has been one year since Tress Walker’s husband was killed in a car accident while driving with his mistress, Anya. Tress was in labor when her husband died and learned after of his infidelity and death. Noah Clark was heartbroken and shocked to learn his wife Anya was having an affair with his best friend, Max. He was with Tress while she gave birth and they have been close ever since.

Odette Devine is an actress on Scotland’s longest running television show. But she has been informed that her time on the show is over. She can’t help but wonder if this is the price, she must pay for a lie she once told.

Keli Clark (Noah’s sister) has recently been ghosted by a man she was seeing. She is heartbroken, which leads to devastation and anger when a stranger reaches out to her.

I was fully invested in this book from the very first page. I wanted to know more about the characters, their plight, their struggles, their triumphs, and for some, how their lives have changed since the events in One Day With You. Shari Low did not disappoint, in fact she dazzled. I found this book to be gripping, heartfelt, humorous, hopeful, dramatic, and hard to put down. I enjoyed the characters, even the ones I didn’t care for as they were so brilliantly described and presented on page.

This is the second Shari Low book that I have read, and I am kicking myself for not reading more of her books. I need to remedy that. She writes characters that I grew to care about, I was rooting for some and enjoyed booing and hissing at others. I appreciated how her books deal with serious topics and themes but also have fun and light moments in them as well.

Well written, gripping, hard to put down and unforgettable.
