This is not going to be a happy honeymoon! A memorable one, yes; but far from happy. In fact, it is a nightmare!
April and Eddie are on their way to their honeymoon when they see a lone female hitchhiker on a deserted road. They stop and pick her up and find themselves in a great big mess. There was a truck that barreled past them and now they are suspects in a murder investigation. Murders have been happening along the Atticus Line for years. As April and Eddie try to clear their names, what they find will haunt them!!!!
This book proved to be creepy, gripping, and mysterious. This one has a nice paranormal touch to it. There are quite a few twists and turns along the way. I never saw the reveal coming and was shocked by that. Simone St. James did a great job creating atmosphere and the eerie vibe that flowed throughout the book. I also enjoyed the tension and mounting danger in the book. I finished the book with a few questions but found it easy to overlook them.
I listened to the audiobook and struggled with the narration. It was snoozefest. I found the narration to be dull, dull, dull. Thankfully, the characters and plot did work for me despite the narrator. This was not my favorite book by Simone St. James, but it was still a good one.
