Just read this already!!!!! Seriously, Just for the Summer is such a wonderful read. I adored the characters, their struggles/issues, the supporting characters, the banter, and their romance. Every time I read a book by Abby Jimenez; I want to kick myself for not reading more of her books. They are amazing!

Justin is a charming and great guy who finds himself caring for his young siblings after his mother goes to prison. He also has a bit of a dating issue – every woman he dates finds her soulmate after they breakup. It’s his superpower or maybe it’s his curse. It depends on who you ask. People have plenty to say on the subject. There is even a thread about it on Reddit. Emma is a kind and witty traveling nurse with a traumatic childhood who slides into Justin’s DM’s after she and her roommate see the Reddit thread. She has the same superpower/curse that Justin has. She dates a guy, and he goes on to find love after their relationship ends.

What would happen if they dated each other? Would their dating be what the doctor ordered to break the curse? If they date and break up, each should find true love, right??????

This book was fantastic! I loved the witty banter, the characters, their friends, their attractions, their vulnerability, and their individual challenges. With romance books it is all about the journey for me, and Wowza, did these characters go on quite the journey in this book. Abby Jimenez did not hold back!

This book touches on so many things such as family obligations, addiction, mental health, child abandonment, poor choices, friendship, support, attraction, family, and love. I thought that Abby Jimenez did a fantastic job handling the above issues – especially some of the heavier ones in this book. The characters, in my opinion, react realistically to everything that comes their way, making them feel even more real.

This book was a little bit of everything. It had all the feels and evokes emotion. Abby Jimenez created characters that I cared about, felt for, rooted for, cheered for, cried with, and laughed with. Just for the Summer is a perfect book for the summer!

Gripping, moving, emotional, and full of heart. ❤️
