The Night Shift is a fast paced suspenseful thriller which centers on Nina who works at a 24 hour storage facility in order to pay for her medical school education. She usually spends her shift making rounds, looking at the security cameras, and studying. When she sees something suspicious, her shift takes a very dangerous turn in more ways than one!!

Nina is a diabetic whose blood sugar levels via an app on her smartphone which she no longer has possession of. Plus, there is a dangerous man at the storage facility who poses a serious threat to Nina as well. This book soon becomes a tense and suspenseful cat-and-mouse which could turn deadly.

There are quite a few twists, turns, and revelations in this book. I enjoyed the first half of the book immensely but found myself rolling my eyes and getting annoyed with Nina as the plot went a little off the rails for me.

The author successfully nailed the trapped feeling of being in a 24-hour storage facility. The quiet and loneliness of being in such a big building. There is also a nice amount of dread, tension, danger, and unease in this book. While it was enjoyable, I don’t believe that I will remember this book in months to come.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
