Holy Moly! Harlan Cohen has delivered another thrilling, shocking, gripping, and hard to put down book. Nobody’s Fool is the second book in the Detective Sami Kierce series, but will work very well as a stand-alone. The past and present day collide when disgraced detective turned night school teacher, Sami Kierce has a blast from his past walk into his class before running out. As he tries to find the answers of what happened when he was a young man backpacking through Spain, he finds himself knee deep in mystery, secrets, lies, revelations, and danger!

Whew! This book has a lot going on and I was there for every page of it. As Sami has his class looking into a cold case, a man is released from prison on a technicality, and Sami is seeking answers for an event that left him reeling and with lifelong questions.

I loved how Harlan Coben built the plot. I had no idea where things were going but enjoyed where this book took me. This book has quite a few twists, turns, and revelations. The ending was a complete and utter shock which had me reeling. I did not see that coming at all! I had to pick my jaw up off the floor! I love it when that happens in books.

Wonderfully written, well thought out, and shocking! I’m keeping my fingers crossed that there will be more books in this series *hint, hint, nudge, nudge.

Thank you to Grand Central Publishing and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
