Inside are the bodies of Tobias Lachlan and his fiancée Cora Stevens who were last seen at a restaurant the evening they went missing. Their bodies indicate that they were viciously murdered. Now Josie and Gretchen must interview their family, friends, children to gather more information for their investigation. But then another body is found and the investigation kicks into high gear as the stakes keep getting higher!!!
This is one of my favorite series and I can always count on Lisa Regan to deliver shocking mysteries, thrilling detective work while also giving viewers glimpses into the characters’ lives. Speaking of the characters’ lives, Josie and Noah are going through a lot in this book both individually and as a couple. They also recently become guardians of Wren, a teenage girl, left in their care. I enjoyed seeing Josie and Noah support each other and be there for each other. Plus, the whole Denton PD is there as well as members of Josie’s family who are determined to help Josie and Noah celebrate their marriage!
I love the character development in this series as well as the strengthening relationships between many of the characters. Plus, the ending gives readers a little tidbit into one of the character’s live and it has me chomping at the bit, wanting to know where Lisa Regan is going to go with this in the next book!!!!!!
Mysterious, gripping, thrilling, shocking, and hard to put down!!! I can’t wait to read the next book in this amazing series!
