FBI Agent Gardner Camden and the PAR (Patterns and Recognition) are back in Inside Man! If you read Head Cases, the first book in the series, you know that Gardner has a unique ability and is an analytical genius. His team is made up of unique and intelligent people who are brough in to solve the cases that other agents cannot solve.

Inside Man sees the PAR team investigating the murder of one of their informants. This is only the beginning for them as they learn more and uncover more bodies, they know that they have a diabolical killer on their hands. How do they solve a case which seems to be unsolvable.

As with the first book, I enjoyed the quirky characters and their unique way of looking at cases. They use patterns and puzzles to help solve their cases. I also enjoyed how this book takes place after the first book ended. I enjoyed seeing Gardner with his mother and learning how she is doing. Readers also get to see him interacting with his daughter.

I love all things forensic and enjoyed the forensic angle in this book. I also enjoyed the tension, the search for the truth, and the character development. While I did not enjoy this as much as I did the first book in this series, I still found this book to be intriguing, well thought out, wonderfully written, and riveting.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press | Minotaur Books and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
