Amy Duffy had it all. A promising career, a relationship and was on her way to her cousin’s wedding when her boyfriend/boss (Chris), at work decided that this is the time to talk about her project at work and their relationship. It does not go over well, and Amy does something that she will never live down or forget as her actions have been captured and put on social media.
She moves to a new job and is doing well, until the day her ex-boyfriend, Chris, is her new boss! She just can’t shake this man. There is a good part of her life – her neighbor Jake (no stranger to public humiliation himself) who is helping her with a competition at work.
This was a cute rom com with some not so cute language thrown in. I don’t mind an F bomb but there was another word that Amy loved to throw around that was a tad annoying.
I did enjoy the characters of both Amy and Jake. Both were likeable and fun to read about. This was an engaging tale about starting over, moving on, owning your mistakes, some sweet revenge and standing up for yourself. This was a nice fast read that had me cheering for some characters and booing for another.
I enjoyed that this wasn’t an insta love or insta lust type of book. Things progressed nicely and relationships were formed. Plus, Amy is a fun character to read about.
Well written, engaging, fun and sweet!
