The Maid’s Secret

Molly Gray’s life is never dull! There always seems to be something going on in Molly, the maid’s life! In The Maid’s Secret, Molly does continue to be endearing and courageous. Molly is also preparing to marry the love of her life, Juan Manuel in two months! Readers of this series know, things at the Regency Grand Hotel are never dull and there is always something going on. When a hit TV show “Hidden Treasures” hosted by appraisers Brown and Beagle is set to film at the hotel, Molly brings in a few things from her beloved Gran’s cabinet and learns that one of the items is worth millions!!!!!!!! With an auction underway and bids are coming in, the prized egg goes missing!!!!!!!!

The story goes back and forth in time as more is learned about Molly’s precious Gram and how she came to be in possession of the egg in question. While I enjoyed learning more about Molly’s gram earlier life and the egg in question, it took up quite a bit of the book. Molly the Maid is the star but, in this book, I felt as if she took a back seat too much of the time. She is the charm and draw of the book for me. I enjoyed The Maid’s Secret but did not enjoy it as much I did the first book in the series, The Maid.

While I enjoyed the mystery and tension that it created, I wanted more Molly and her quirky way of looking at things and solving mysteries. What did work was Molly and Juan Manuel’s relationship and Molly doing her best to do her job and how she encouraged another maid and invited her to her wedding.
