Whew! Talk about a blast from the past! Fatal Betrayal, the second book in the Cassidy Knox series, is gripping, thrilling, and shocking! Fatal Betrayal is also overflowing with secrets, tension, and suspense! There was never a dull moment in this book and the plot moved at a nice pace! Fatal Betrayal picks up where Deadly Sanctuary left off. I loved the action, the not knowing who could be trusted, the suspense, and the mystery of what happened all those years ago. While this book would work nicely as a stand-alone, I do recommend reading Deadly Sanctuary, the riveting first book in this series.
FBI Agent Cassidy Knox is one tough cookie. She has experienced a lot of loss in her life ranging from her partner in the FBI, her parents, and her grandfather. She is back in Florida and caring for the Animal Sanctuary that her grandfather left her in his will. She has also reconnected with her childhood sweetheart, Jake. If only these two lovebirds could catch a break! But a blast from the past is about to throw their lives into turmoil once again!
This book is full of action and Cassidy finds herself sleep deprived, banged up, and reeling from one revelation after another. She finds not only herself in danger during a home invasion, but her boyfriend soon goes missing. Cassidy is not one to back down and she throws herself into not only finding Jake but also finding the truth that has been kept from her for most of her life. Along the way she relies on the skills she has honed as an FBI agent.
Shannon Hollinger has delivered another wonderfully written, well thought out, twist filled, action packed, mystery thriller! I loved the suspense, the setting, and the mystery! I can’t wait to read what happens next! This is the 1oth book that I have read by Shannon Hollinger. She always delivers captivating and addictive mystery thrillers. If you have not read one of her books, what are you waiting for????
Thank you to Shannon Hollinger who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
