I am always thrilled and excited when I see there is another book in this riveting series coming out! Watch Over Me had me turning the pages and enjoying every second of it. I love Sheriff Jenna Alton and Deputy David Kane. Black Rock Falls is a dangerous place to be, but many call it home, sweet home. Kane and Alton do a fantastic job at solving cases, stopping serial killers, and keeping the community as safe as possible. I love them both individually but also love them as a couple with small children. I also love how D.K. Hood seamlessly blends their persona. romantic life into their professional lives in this series! Plus, the supporting characters are awesome as well.
In Watch Over Me, a sinister killer is stalking women, leaving them scary messages, and leaving bodies behind. Kane and Alton, along with their team, the FBI and even Raven’s dog will be on the case to catch a killer!!!!
This book proved to be a fast paced, captivating, and thrilling read. I love D.K. Hood’s vivid descriptions along with her wonderful writing. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the snowy winter setting, the tension, the dread, and the mounting danger! There were a few pulse pounding moments and a nice sized suspect pool. I tried my best to come up with whodunit, but D.K. Hood pulled the wool over my eyes! I love it when that happens. I enjoy a good shock with realistic reveal (not coming out of left field) in my books!
This is the 28th book in the series but will work nicely as a stand-alone novel. I began this series with the 22nd book in the series and have been a fan of the series ever since! I love the characters, their commitment to their jobs, the detective work, the relationships, the sense of found family, and community in this series.
Wonderfully written, well thought out, tense, shocking and hard to put down! I can’t wait to see what comes next for Jenna and Kane!
