Well written, gripping, dripping with tension, and full of secrets! The Party on Laurel Street had me turning the pages wondering what happened in the woods all those years ago just as much as I was wondering what happened the night of the party!

Mel has moved back to her grandmother’s home with her husband, Luke, and daughter after her beloved grandmother’s death. She has a job as a teacher in town and her husband will work as a handyman. Moving back is bittersweet. It is where she lived but also where Erin, her childhood friend, went missing and has never been found. Mel also reconnects with her friend, Gabbie, and meets her nosey rule enforcing neighbors.

I could feel the tension and unease dripping from the pages. Something isn’t quite right, but what? Erin has always been on their minds. Not knowing what happened to Erin makes having closure difficult. The night of the party changes everything. A lot of characters have secrets in this book which added to the drama, mystery, and tension in the book.

There were a nice number of twists and turns in this book. I was shocked at the reveal! I did not see that coming at all! I tried to do my best super sleuthing in this book to figure out what was going on and Ruth Heald shocked me a couple of times in this book. I love it when that happens!

Gripping, well written, dripping with secrets and tension.

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.
